Renowned as the architectural fathers of UK hip-hop and sample culture, they revolutionized dance music by slicing together breakbeats, spoken word, and multimedia. Their legendary 1987 remix of Eric B. & Rakim’s “Paid in Full” became a definitive blueprint for modern remixing. They scored major mainstream chart success with the 1988 anthem “Doctorin’ the House” featuring Yazz. Masters of underground electronica, the duo also founded the highly influential independent record label Ninja Tune.
