EuropeEurope is an acclaimed Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1979 by vocalist Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum. They achieved monumental global success in the mid-1980s by blending heavy metal riffs with melodic hooks and soaring power ballads.

The band skyrocketed to international superstardom with their 1986 multi-platinum album The Final Countdown. The iconic, keyboard-driven title track became a definitive global anthem, topping the charts in 25 countries. Following further massive hits like “Carrie” and “Rock the Night,” the band took a lengthy hiatus before successfully reuniting in 2003 to tour and record heavy rock albums.
