HeatwaveHeatwave was an international funk and disco band formed in London in 1975 by American soldier Johnnie Wilder Jr. and his brother Keith. Noted for their vibrant harmonies and smooth choreography, the group featured members from the UK, US, and Europe, including legendary English songwriter Rod Temperton.

They achieved monumental global success in the late 1970s with their multi-platinum debut album Too Hot to Handle. The record spawned the iconic dancefloor classic “Boogie Nights” and the timeless ballad “Always and Forever.” Despite a tragic car crash in 1979 that left Johnnie Wilder paralyzed, the band bravely continued recording and touring through the 1980s.
