Mel & KimMel & Kim were an iconic British pop duo formed in London in 1986, comprising sisters Melanie and Kim Appleby. Discovered by the legendary songwriting and production trio Stock Aitken Waterman, they became a defining sensation of the late-1980s dance-pop and club scenes.

The sisters skyrocketed to immediate international fame with their debut single, “Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend).” They achieved monumental commercial success in 1987 when their infectious, chart-topping anthem “Respectable” reached number one in the UK. Tragically, their meteoric rise was cut short when Mel passed away from cancer in 1990.
