New Order New Order are an iconic English rock and electronic band formed in Manchester in 1980 by Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, and Gillian Gilbert. Rising from the tragedy of lead singer Ian Curtis’s death, which ended their previous incarnation as Joy Division, they pioneeringly blended post-punk with electronic dance music. Their self-produced 12-inch single, “Blue Monday”, became the best-selling 12-inch record of all time and a definitive club anthem. With critically acclaimed albums like Power, Corruption & Lies and chart-topping hits like “Bizarre Love Triangle” and “True Faith”, they became architectural masters of modern alternative music.
