Adeva Adeva (born Patricia Daniels) is an influential American house and R&B singer who became a definitive voice of the late-1980s garage house movement. Developed by her roots as a New Jersey church choir director, her powerful, gospel-trained vocal delivery earned her “house diva” icon status. After signing with UK label Cooltempo, she achieved major international success with her 1989 self-titled debut album, Adeva!, which went platinum. The record spawned a string of classic club hits, including a fierce cover of Otis Redding’s “Respect”, “Warning!”, and “I Thank You”. She later collaborated extensively with house pioneer Frankie Knuckles.
