Adeva – Warning!

Released in 1989, “Warning!” was one of the standout tracks from Adeva’s self-titled debut album, Adeva!. The song showcased the powerful voice of the American singer against a sophisticated garage-house production, placing her firmly within the late-1980s meeting point between soul, R&B and the emerging house music culture.

Written by Debbie Parkin, Rico Tyler and Roderick Goode, “Warning!” carries a strong message about romantic betrayal and the moment when patience finally runs out. Adeva delivers the lyrics with authority, making it clear that she will not tolerate dishonesty or being taken for granted. Her commanding vocal gives the song an unmistakable sense of attitude, while still retaining the warmth and emotion associated with classic soul singing.

The production is built around programmed drums, keyboards and a deep, infectious house groove.
